David McPherson
David is now the 3rd generation McPherson to head up the business.
His first foray into transport was in gaining his heavy goods driving licence and this was followed shortly thereafter with a role, in 1985, within the Traffic Department in the McPherson business run by his father and uncle.
The hard graft in those early years has held him in good stead as an excellent grounding in the workings of transport and the whisky industry. This knowledge has enabled him to expect standards, which Traffic Managers to this day, are still striving to maintain!
David was able to benefit from the range of opportunities existing within a large Plc and spent time within their operations throughout the UK and as far a field as Australia where he spent 18 months.
He eventually returned to the McPherson fold and by 1993 rose to the position of Managing Director, a position he has held ever since.
