ADR (Dangerous Goods)

There are now increasingly few classes of goods, which are NOT considered “Dangerous” these days.
And hence most light commercial and heavy good drivers should take the precaution of getting the ADR qualification. It will keep you legal and it will keep you safe.

As a minimum please give us a call to see whether you operation falls within the scope of the legislation.

McPherson Training is an authorised provider of ADR courses by the Department for Transport.  We can provide courses for both tankers and packages in all classes of hazardous goods, excluding explosives and radioactive materials.

Training is compliant with the requirement of ADR Regulations for international road transport and the Carriage of Dangerous Goods and Use of Transportable Pressure Equipment Regulations for UK transportation (the UK regulations).

Any driver carrying “In-Scope” Dangerous Goods by road, which will include small vehicles as well as large goods vehicles from January 2007, requires an ADR Vocational Training Certificate.  Indeed, it is now a requirement for handlers, loaders and fillers to have received vocational training in the handling of hazardous substances.  This certificate can only be obtained by attending an authorised course and passing the necessary exam.

We offer the Initial Course of four days training followed by externally marked examinations on day five. And also the Refresher Course, with 2 days training and externally marked exams on the last day.

Courses are run at our dedicated training facility in Elgin and throughout Scotland at selected locations. We can also provide in-house training and tailored courses to meet your requirements.

Additionally, if you require, or your staff require, an ADR Certificate you will also require to have access to a Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor. Why not employ McPherson Training in the consultancy role?
