What is Driver CPC?

Not sure what Driver CPC is?

This is a new requirement applicable to drivers of busses and LGV’s. It became a requirement for bus drivers from 10th September 2008 and for LGV drivers from 10th September 2009.

This requirement and qualification must not be confused with the National or International CPC required by Traffic Managers etc.

All persons taking the respective test after the dates above are now required to take a module 4 test which qualifies them to drive in a professional capacity. Drivers who held a full licence prior to the above dates are assumed to have 'grandfather' rights and are not required to take the module 4. However, all drivers irrespective of gaining a module 4 pass or having acquired rights, are required to do 35 hours of improver training, applicable to the laid down syllabus, every five years.

This training must be provided in blocks of seven hours. It must be a training course that has been approved by The Joint Approvals Unit for Periodic Training (JAUPT), the managing authority for Drivers CPC. The training must also be presented by a JAUPT approved Training Centre.
