Part-load Collection Service
Another service which may be of interest to final customers and hauliers alike is our Part-load collection service.
This service has grown from the fact that we have warehousing based near Perth and due to the fact that we have more loads going South from the North of Scotland, rather than the other way round.
The way it works is that part-load deliveries are deposited in our warehouses at Perth, and then one of our regular stream of vehicles going north will complete the journey to the final destination.
The “win” for each party is clear. For the haulier, cost savings (which could be as much as hundreds of miles), timesavings and the opportunity to do additional loads in a day. For customers cheaper rates and for McPherson the gain of additional revenue for mileages which we are doing anyway!
