Workshops are dangerous places caused by such matters as manoeuvring vehicles or plant, pressure tools and equipment, rotation tools, a range of electrical voltages, working with chemicals such as oil or grease to name but a few. Add to that the risks from slipping and tripping and you have major opportunity for an accident and resultant claim.

McPherson Training has a one-day course, which addresses all these hazards plus many more. It discusses control measures and safe systems of work. The course was originally designed to meet the requirements of McPherson Ltd. workshop operations.

As well as a good introduction to the dangers in a workshop for new employees it is a useful tool to periodically ensure compliance by more experienced employees.

Training is presented by a trainer with 30 plus years experience in managing busy engineering facilities, plus several years in engineering training up to national certificate standard.

Candidates are presented with certificates recording their attendance, and copies made available to corporate clients where requested, so this training goes a long way to satisfying employers duty of care under H&S.

We are able to provide this training on our own or client’s premises.

In addition to the above training we are able to provide a safety audit service for workshops. A new pair of eyes to identify problems you may have missed plus presentations of solutions based on the latest regulations. All such audits are accompanied by a full written report.
